Rules and Expectations

All players and parents who are members of The Phenoms Youth Foundation understand playing basketball demands tremendous commitment and dedication to the game and their team. Playing for the The Phenoms Youth Foundation is a privilege not a right. As The Phenoms Youth Foundation players and parents, we understand and agree to follow the policies:

Players Responsibilities

  1. All players will treat teammates, coaches, parents, officials and opponents with dignity and respect. Depending on the severity of the disrespect, a player may be suspended from a game, or be dismissed from the team.
  2. All players, regardless of ability and/or playing time are equal members of the team. Each and every player will treat all teammates with acceptance, respect, and friendship.
  3. All players will provide maximum effort in practice and games.
  4. Attendance at all practices, team meetings, and games is mandatory.
  5. Players/parents that cannot make practice/games are responsible for informing the coach through a phone call, txt, or email at the earliest possible time.
  6. When players miss practices and/or games, playing time in future games may be affected.
  7. Unexcused absences are absences in which the coach was not informed in the manner described above. And/or the reason was for the absence is not satisfactory. Unexcused absences from practices and/or games will result in the player losing their spot on the team.
  8. Players are to be on time for all practices and games. Tardiness may affect playing time in games. Players are expected to be at games 30 mins prior to start time and at practices at least 5 mins before the start of practice.

Parent Responsibility

  1. Parents will treat players, coaches, opponents, and officials with respect and dignity.
  2. All comments by parents and their guests from the sidelines will be encouraging and/or complimentary. Parents and guests will refrain from making comments about players’ mistakes or errors.
  3. Parents will refrain from making derogatory comments to referees at any time.
  4. Coaching basketball is to be done only by coaches on staff. Parents agree to refrain from coaching or directing their child or other players during all games and practices.
  5. Parents will discuss player and/or team concerns and problems directly with the head coach or director. These discussions will not take place right before or after a game. A meeting will be scheduled. Parents will support coaches and encourage their athlete to do the same.
  6. Parents will participate in the raising of monies needed to sustain the needs of the basketball program, regardless of the amount of playing of time given.
  7. Parents will also understand and abide by the player responsibilities also.

Drug Policy

The Phenoms Youth Foundation has a zero policy for drugs. Any player that is found to be on any illegal substance will automatically be dismissed from the team. The Phenoms Youth Foundation has the right to drug test any players that participate in our program at any time. If a player refuses to be drug tested or fails the drug test they will be released from our program and will not be issued a refund of any dues that have been paid. If a player is let go from the team due to this matter all uniforms and team gear will be collected. If the player has paid all dues in full they will be refunded $50 for all team gear.

Refund Policy

If a player is released from the team due to failure to comply with any rules of this document, no dues that have been paid will be refunded. If a player decides to quit/leave the team no refund of any dues paid will be refunded. Uniform Policy Players do not own the uniforms until their complete team fee is paid in full. If a player quits or leaves the team prior to paying the full team fee The Phenoms Youth Foundation has the right and will collect all uniforms and team gear from the player.
